Missing Tooth Replacement

Implant
Implants can be used to replace one or more missing teeth. In our office we work closely with oral surgeons and periodontists who complete the surgical placement of the implant. The patient returns to our office after a healing period and we then place the abutment (an attachment that connects the implant to the crown) and crown on the implant to finish the restoration.

Bridge
In some cases a bridge is used rather than an implant to replace a missing tooth or teeth. To replace a missing tooth with a bridge, teeth next to the missing tooth are prepared so that the bridge will fit over them. The bridge is then made in a dental lab from porcelain or porcelain with a metal substructure. When the bridge fabrication is completed it is adjusted and cemented into the mouth.

Full or Partial Dentures
Removable appliances are another way to restore missing teeth either as a final solution or as an interim restoration before completing implant or bridge treatment. Dentures can be both an esthetic and affordable option when a fixed restoration is not possible or not desired by the patient.
